Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP)
Designed to address labor shortages in rural and northern communities, this pilot program offers a pathway for individuals to obtain permanent residency by meeting specific community-based criteria.
To qualify for permanent residency under the RNIP, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria set by the participating communities.
The requirements may include:
- Job Offer from a Participating Employer: Applicants must have a genuine job offer from an employer located in one of the participating communities. The job offer must meet certain criteria, such as being fulltime, non-seasonal, and meeting prevailing wage rates.
- Work Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of continuous full-time work experience (or part-time equivalent) in an eligible occupation related to the job offer within the past three years.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate language proficiency in English or French by providing valid language test results. The required language levels may vary depending on the participating community.
