- Work Experience: Applicants must have at least one year of work experience related to their job offer, acquired within the last three years.
- Education: Applicants must have a minimum level of education, which may vary depending on the occupation and the specific requirements of the participating province.
- Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or French by providing valid language test results.
The application process for permanent residency under the Atlantic Immigration Program generally involves the following steps:
- Obtain a Job Offer: Secure a valid job offer from a designated employer in one of the participating Atlantic provinces.
- Apply for Endorsement: The designated employer must apply for an endorsement on behalf of the applicant to the respective provincial government. The endorsement confirms that the job offer is genuine and meets the program’s requirements.
- Submit PR Application: Once endorsed, the applicant can submit their application for permanent residency to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) along with the necessary supporting documents.
- Medical Examinations and Security Checks: Applicants and their accompanying family members must undergo medical examinations and security checks as part of the application process.
- Decision on PR Application:IRCC reviews the application, supporting documents, and completes the necessary checks before deciding on the permanent residency application.
